About Alexander Kirifides, DO
Dr. Alexander Kirifides is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist and a proud
Delaware native. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Philadelphia
College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2000, following a Master of Science in Pharmacology
from the Medical College of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and
Mathematics from Muhlenberg College.
He completed his OB/GYN residency at Christiana Care Health System in 2005, where he
served as Chief Resident in his final year and was recognized with the Best Teaching
Resident award. Dr. Kirifides is highly skilled in a wide range of women’s health
procedures, including minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery.
Dr. Kirifides has been honored multiple times as a “Top Doc” in Obstetrics and Gynecology
by Delaware Today magazine, a reflection of his commitment to patient-centered, highquality care. He has served in several leadership roles, including the Peer Review
Committee at Christiana Hospital, the Parish Council of his church, and the Compliance
Committee for Lifeline Medical.
Outside of his professional life, Dr. Kirifides enjoys playing squash and golf, and spending
quality time with his wife and teenage daughter. As a family, they also care for honeybees
and enjoy harvesting honey together each year as a unique family tradition.
