A native of Chennai (Madras), India, Dr. Bani A. Sarma was raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia. After completing her undergraduate studies and medical school at Temple, she completed her medical training at the Pennsylvania Hospital and Lehigh Valley Medical Center.

Dr. Sarma is well known in the community and is conversant in several Indian languages including Hindi and Telugu. Her natural warmth and dedication makes her very popular with our patients.

Gynecological Exams

Dr. Sarma is an exceptional clinician and human being! I have been a patient of hers for years and that is because of her bedside manners and expertise. She does not make you feel rushed and does not have a computer in front of her documenting the visit while you're in the exam room. She actually sits down and makes eye contact with you, despite the tremdendous pressure of working harder with less reimbursement from payors. I only hope that she can continue to sustain her compassion in the current healthcare climate as she is too valuable a practitioner to lose, with more and more clinicians leaving the clinic for higher paying and less stressful jobs.
