Miranda has been caring for women for more than 15 years. She has practiced as a high risk obstetrical nurse, home birth assistant and as an advocacy nurse and lactation consultant for military families. Her own birth experience drove her to seek change though evidenced based practice and the midwifery model of care. Miranda is focused on improving outcomes for pregnant and birthing people and advocates to bring awareness to the importance of recognizing and working to eliminate disparities where they exist.

Miranda is a full scope nurse midwife which means she is able to provide most of your gynecological care. She performs pap smears, orders mammogram imagining and can prescribe birth control including IUD insertion. She is also trained in treating menstrual and pelvic issues and vaginal infections including those that are sexually transmitted.

Miranda is passionate about providing excellent care to all of our patients. She received her Master of Science in Nursing (Midwifery), from Frontier Nursing University.

Childbirth / Labor & Delivery

Miranda was encouraging and supportive during my labor and delivery. She could tell, I'm sure, that I was nervous and was incredibly supportive in my decision making throughout each -fast moving- phase. She kept the mood light and I felt calmer just by her presence.

Obstetrical Appointment (routine)

After my ultrasound I was put into a room to wait to see a midwife and waited almost an hr before seeing the midwife. I was told the practice would not see me if I chose not to give birth at their partnering hospital and the practice would be losing money if I decided to come for appointments if I did not plan on giving birth at the hospital. The midwife made it a big deal about me even getting blood work that day because she said it would be hard to transfer my blood work/ paper work over to another birthing facility. I was then left in that same room for another hour after speaking with the midwife because the nurses forgot about me when I could have went and left for blood work shortly after the midwife left.

Childbirth / Labor & Delivery

The midwives provided and incredible level of care that allowed me to feel empowered even through a really difficult birth experience. I believe I would have likely had a caesarean or far more difficult recovery if they hadn't taken the time to lead me towards natural labouring positions to turn the baby. The delivery experience itself was awesome. I trust Miranda and Jennifer completely.

Gynecological Problem Visit

I feel the appointment was not necessary and a waste of my time as I only needed a simple prescription. I called the nurse's line prior to setting the appointment to ask for the prescription. The nurse advised me that I must come in to the office so I called the appointment setter. She was going to give me a date weeks ahead, and I had to beg her to try to find something sooner, so I had to take the first available which meant I had to take a half day off from work. I live and work one hour away from the practice. When I arrived 15 minutes early, I wasn't seen for HALF HOUR AFTER my scheduled appointment only to be with Miranda (the midwife I came to see) for literally 45 seconds. She assured me she will call in my prescription to my pharmacy which she did. I feel the patients' time is not valued at this office.
