Overall patient rating for Zachary Merriam

Childbirth / Labor & Delivery

Dr. Merriam was great! He was very patient with me as i was very nervous giving birth to my first. He made me feel more comfortable and was very kind. He explained the next steps throughout the labor and delivery which helped me to relax and calm down a bit. If i have another baby in the future i would love for Dr. Merriam to be my doctor again.

Office Visit / Follow-up

I felt doctor Miriam didn't ask me many questions or provide any intermittent feedback that could help me ease my discomfort while i had to wait for additional appointments ie sonogram ect. I am always waiting an extended period of time for my appointment they have never been on time.

The dr did the basic steps but it took a week to get a call back. His staff wasn’t particularly helpful

Annual Well Woman Exam

the doctor made no effort to be friendly or help me relax as the examination continued. when I asked him questions he answered with one word answers. it was very clinic, cold and uncomfortable. As it is, the internals are uncomfortable and the doctor can just ask a few questions about the patient to make it easier and take their mind off of what is happening. i have used four of the other doctors in the practice over the last 30 years and this was the only negative experience I have ever had.

Lab Work

Dr Merriam is very professional and always listens to any concerns I have. He’s very patient and explains options clearly. I trust that I’m in the best care. The office staff are super kind and the practice is super clean.

Annual Well Woman Exam

My last pap was over a year ago and I have a history of high risk hpv, my 2020 pap was abnormal. Dr. Merriam asked why I was there for a pap if I had my post partum check up in August 2022. I explained I didn’t have a pap that visit and I get them annually due to my history. His demeanor was rude and ultimately said fine, we’ll count today as your annual even though you were here in august (which was not my annual). I then said I was planning to get pregnant again and he informed me it’s not safe and that I should wait 12-18 months. He didn’t bother to ask about my family building plans or even have a conversation with me. Very judgmental and reiterated 3 times that I shouldn’t get pregnant yet. I had a very healthy pregnant and delivery - I am in great physical health and will be 34 in April, so instead of talking to me like a text book, I would’ve appreciated him having a conversation about the risks while also considering my family goals at my age.
