Welcome to Dr Steer’s solo OB practice in Morristown, NJ! About Dr Steer:
After graduating from Amherst College with Honors in Neuroscience and Captain of the football team, in 1981, he attended Cornell University Medical College in NYC and graduated in 1986 with The George Ladas Prize in Gynecology, the J.G. Noback Prize in Anatomy, and the Roger Weiss Prize in Clinical Medicine. He was also selected to serve on the Admissions Committee, 1985-86. He did his Residency in OBGYN at The New York Hospital – Cornell Medical Center from 1986-90, and was a Chief Resident, 1989-90. He is Board Certified by the American Board of OB/GYN (renewed annually), and is a Fellow, American College of OB/GYN, and a member of the American Medical Association, the Medical Society of New Jersey, and the Morris County Medical Society, where he was on the Executive Committee.
Dr Steer has also served on the Morristown Medical Center Medical Executive Committee, the Credentials Committee, the Dept OBGYN Advisory Committee, and L&D Optimization Committee. He received a Physician Recognition Award for Outstanding Participation in OBGYN Resident & Medical Student Teaching Programs and was an OB/GYN Resident Candidate Interviewer and Resident Mentor.
He has also served on Aetna’s National Women’s Health Quality Advisory Committee and the Board of Directors of Cornell University Medical College Alumni Association and the Morristown Red Cross. Hewas on the Bayer Women’s HealthCare National Speakers Bureau. Dr Steer has been selected by his peers as a “Top Doctor,” New York Metro Area, Castle Connelly annually since 1999.
Dr Steer has always been focused on patient safety and quality care, and he researched, wrote and presented the following Grand Rounds Presentations: “An evidence-based, standardized protocol for the safer administration of oxytocin in this era of patient safety,” and “An evidence-based, Massive Transfusion Protocol to improve safety in the hemorrhaging OB patient,” and “Opioid reduction in OB & GYN patients across Atlantic Health System: A new Initiative.”

Dr Steer resides in Bernardsville, NJ with his wife, Sheila. They have 2 sons, Henry, Delbarton ’11, Harvard ‘15, and Bobby, Delbarton ’17, Georgetown ‘21, and a Golden Doodle named Roger (after tennis champion, Roger Federer).
