About Michelle Caban, MD

After graduating from Fordham University in Bronx, New York, with a degree in psychology, Dr. Caban spent three years as a research assistant, first in Fordham’s psychology department, then for the Women’s Health Initiative Memory Study.

Dr. Caban was then accepted into the Harvard Extension pre-med program. During her pre-med studies, she served as a laboratory research assistant for Harvard University School of Public Health, studying hormones in women’s health as predictors of breast, colon, and other cancers.

Following pre-med, Dr. Caban completed her medical degree at New York Medical College in 2005, receiving the Sanford Sall, MD Award for Obstetrics & Gynecology. She performed her OBGYN residency training at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, New York and Metropolitan Hospital Center in New York City, where she served as chief resident and received the Resident Teacher of the Year Award.

Prior to moving to New Jersey and joining RWJPE Women’s Care in 2013, Dr. Caban worked at a group practice in Carmel, New York for three years. She is board certified and a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (FACOG).
