About Ronnie Bochner, MD

Attended City College in New York City graduating from the university’s Biomedical Program in 1979. At the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, he decided that Obstetrics and Gynecology would be his chosen field. As such, he completed his internship and residency at the Long Island Jewish Hospital in Queens NY where he met Dr Rathauser, his senior resident. It was during those years that he decided to join his colleague in New Jersey someday in the future.

Prior to moving to New Jersey, Dr. Bochner served in the public health service, stationed at the Martin Luther King Health Center in the South Bronx where he served as its Director of Obstetrics. Once his stint with the Health Service ended, he took a teaching position at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, an academic department where his colleague Dr. Rathauser was on faculty as well.

From there he and Dr. Rathauser teamed up to form what is known today as RWJ Ob/Gyn Associates. He still maintains the title of Clinical Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology as he is actively involved in educating medical students and residents.

He has received awards for his teaching while in the public health service as well as from the Department of Ob/Gyn at Robert Wood. He served on the Robotics team at its inception in 2001, serves on numerous hospital committees, and is currently Chairman of the Utilization Management Committee as of 2011.

He is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a fellow of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

He has been named in numerous magazines as a “Top Doc” and a listing in the Castle Connelly Guide for the past ten years starting in 2001.

He is currently President of the Rutgers University staff at RWJUH from 2021 until the present.
