Your wellness care is all about prevention so it’s important to schedule a wellness visit on an annual basis. Your provider will conduct screenings and exams that will help ensure that you continue to maintain your health and well-being.

Wellness care is important throughout every stage of your life as a woman.

As a younger woman, you will be screened for health issues that might affect your ability to have children as well as to detect any issues early enough so they can be treated successfully.

As you move through life, you might have other concerns that can be addressed during your wellness visit, such as bone health, menopause, and thyroid issues. Even if you feel great, though, a wellness check can help ensure that you continue to enjoy good health.

A wellness visit will typically include a:

  • Check of your height, weight, and body mass index (BMI)
  • Clinical breast exam
  • Blood pressure and temperature check
  • Pelvic exam

Your physician might also do blood tests for cholesterol, diabetes, and thyroid levels, depending on your age and situation. The provider will review immunizations and screenings that are necessary at each stage of your life to ensure your health and well-being.
