My experience with Karen Healy was terrific. She was thorough asked lots of questions and answered most of mine. I enjoyed meeting her and her interaction and knowledge was excellent. However, there is lack of education and understanding of women’s hormones and middle age health. Every nurse/doctor seems to brush off women’s concerns and refers to social media as over exaggerating or giving misinformation and brush off the subject. The fact is that is why there is a huge social media movement for women’s middle age health and hormones is because doctors just brushes us off, and don’t address the issues or just write a quick script of hormones without education or follow up. Saying “we don’t test hormones” or “it’s not necessary to test” isn’t good enough. Nothing personal against Karen as she only knows what she has taught, but the entire industry needs to do better for middle-aged women because not everyone can afford to go to a functional doctor and pay thousands of dollars out-of-pocket to get extensive hormone testing to see if what they’re currently on needs to be adjusted. Or to seek out other solutions for their symptoms.
